प्रधानमंत्री नरेंद्र मोदी ने कहा कि मैं देश के प्रत्येक नागरिक चाहे हिंदू हो या मुसलिम को यह कहना चाहता हूं कि इस कानून से किसी भी नागरिक की नागरिकता पर असर नहीं होगा. प्रधानमंत्री ने कहा कि आपने इस डर एवं छल को नकार दिया, पूरे देश ने इस कांग्रेस और उसके साथियों की नाकारात्मक सोच को ही नकार दिया, पर लोगों को डराने एवं झूठी बातें फैलाने को उन्होंने अपनी राजनीति का आधार बना दिया. उन्होंने कहा कि वे जनता की सेवा कर राजनीति नहीं कर सकते हैं, उन्हें डरा कर ही राजनीति कर सकते हैं.

प्रधानमंत्री मोदी ने कहा कि ये सफेद झूठ बोलने लगे हैं, लोगों को डराने लगे हैं. उन्होंने कहा कि ये लोग देश में झूठ एवं भ्रम का माहौल बना रहे हैं, हिंसा फैला रहे हैं, जबकि यह बात पत्थर की लकीर की तरह है कि इससे किसी की नागरिकता पर कोई असर नहीं होगा. उन्होंने कहा कि मेरी बात आपको समझ में आ गयी, लेकिन कांग्रेस को समझ में नहीं आती, क्योंकि उनकी राजनीति की खिचड़ी नहीं पक रही है.
प्रधानमंत्री मोदी ने कहा कि मैं कांग्रेस एवं उनके सहयोगियों को चुनौती देता हूं कि अगर हिम्मत है तो घोषणा करें कि वे पाकिस्तान के हर नागरिक को भारत की नागरिकता देंगे, 370 को दोबारा लागू करेंगे और तीन तलाक कानून रद्द करेंगे. उन्होंने कहा कि कांग्रेस दश के युवाओं को बर्बाद करने का खेल खेलना बंद करे.
